Dr. Vining graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from College of the Holy Cross. She received her medical degree from Yale University, and then she completed her internship in general surgery and residency in otolaryngology at the Yale New Haven Hospital. She further dedicated herself to her specialty by completing a fellowship in rhinology and sinus at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Vining has held academic appointments at both Yale University School of Medicine (clinical instructor, Otolaryngology) and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (lecturer, Department of Otorhinolaryngology). Dr. Vining is an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery, Yale University School of Medicine. She is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a diplomat for the National Board of Medical Examiners. She is a member in leadership positions with the American Rhinologic Society and the Connecticut Ear, Nose and Throat Society.
Dr. Vining specializes in the treatment of sinus conditions and is regarded professionally as an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of sinus disorders. She lectures frequently at specialty conferences, most notably on endoscopic sinus surgery.
