Ear Nose & Throat Medical and Surgical Group, LLC. was established over twenty-five years ago by our friend and colleague, the late John Loeffler, M.D. Still holding true to Dr. Loeffler’s belief in the “Patient First” approach to medicine, the practice is a recognized and respected leader in the delivery of Otolaryngological and Hearing Care for Children and Adults. Represented by nationally-recognized Physicians and Audiologists, our practice always strives for medical excellence.
Our specialists treat many diseases including sinusitis, tonsillitis, thyroid cancer, tongue cancer, as well as, other head and neck cancers. Additionally, we treat acoustic neuromas and perform cochlear implants.
We boast an Audiology department that is second to none. Our Audiologists offer a wide range of hearing and balance tests. We also offer the latest hearing technology, so you can find the hearing aid that meets your needs.
Our Physicians are proud to be faculty members at the Yale School of Medicine. We are affiliated with Yale-New Haven Hospital, the Hospital of Saint Raphael and Gaylord Hospital.
Dear Medicare Patients,
As your physicians, we greatly value the trust you have placed in us and we are dedicated to honoring that trust by providing you with the high quality care and personal attention that you deserve.
However, for the past several years, average Medicare payment rates for physician services have remained relatively unchanged while the costs of running our practice, such as staff, office space and insurance have steadily increased. To make matters worse, Medicare physician payment rates are scheduled to be cut by nearly 30 percent effective January 1, 2012.
Sadly, if something isn\'t done, your access to health care will be affected. In this practice, we will limit the number of new Medicare patients we accept AND we will limit the number of existing Medicare patients we will see on a daily basis. Although we regret having to take these steps, we will be left with little choice. We suspect this will be the case with many physicians.
We would encourage you to take action and let Congress know your feelings about the broken Medicare payment system and how it will impact your access to good quality health care by calling the American Medical Association's toll-free patient hotline at (888) 434-6200.
Respectfully yours,
Jim Wallach, M.P.A.
