Dr. Burns specializes in the evaluation of profoundly hearing impaired individuals to determine cochlear implant candidacy as well as device programming and rehabilitation. She is also involved in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss and vestibular disorders. Dr. Burns obtained her Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her Doctorate of Audiology from Syracuse University. She completed her final clinical placement at the University of South Carolina Cochlear Implant Program working with infants, children, and adults.

Dr. Burns is certified by both the American Academy of Audiology and the American-Speech-Language-Hearing-Association.
